An Evening of Music, Food & Community in Support of the Cook Family
Sunday, October 11, 2026 | 4:00–7:00 p.m.
The Kimbell Cultural Event Center
Our community is coming together for an afternoon of music, food, and fellowship to support Andrew Cook and his family as they begin a life-changing journey.
Andrew had just celebrated his 21st birthday and was preparing for his senior year of college, working toward an engineering degree and doing everything he could to graduate debt-free. On September 3, Andrew was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident while riding home from class. He suffered a severe spinal cord injury, a broken back, broken ribs, a broken scapula, and other serious injuries.
Andrew is a paraplegic and is breathing on his own and showing tremendous strength, but he faces months of rehabilitation and a very difficult road ahead. His family is also preparing for significant expenses, including specialized rehabilitation, mobility equipment, accessibility changes to their home, lost income, and other needs that may continue for years.
In response, Andrew’s friends, family, musicians, local businesses, churches, and community organizations are joining together to create Chords of Hope. This relaxed, come-and-go benefit will feature live music from members of our community, dinner provided through the generosity of local restaurants and volunteers, fellowship, and opportunities to support the Cook family.
The Brazos Valley Chorale’s Chamber Singers will perform, with additional musicians and special guests to be announced. Brazos River Youth Theater and The Theatre Company of Bryan–College Station are also joining the night as a community supporters.
Your minimum $25 donation includes admission, dinner, and the musical program. Guests are welcome to give more, and those who cannot attend may make a donation without reserving a ticket. 100% of funds raised through Chords of Hope will go to the Cook family meet the immediate and long-term needs created by Andrew’s accident and recovery.
Andrew’s plans for the future may look different now, but he still has a future worth fighting for. We invite you to join us as we surround Andrew and his family with hope, encouragement, prayer, and practical support.
Come for the music. Share a meal. Help carry this family forward.
